Coffee Break with SuperMom Christine Lowe

0

Do you know a supermom? At Providence Moms Blog, we believe in celebrating ALL moms: worn out moms, stressed out moms, tired moms, and moms who need a break. THESE are supermoms. THESE are good moms. THESE are moms who deserve celebrating and who deserve a break.

The second supermom we are introducing you to is Christine, who was nominated by her friend Lynne.  Read on to learn more about why Lynne thinks Christine is a supermom! By the way, Christine was QUICK to point out that Lynne is quite the supermom herself!

How do you know Christine?

Christine and I met 4 years ago at the gym. She had just had the twins about 2 months prior and I was about 6 months postpartum with my first. I was wearing a URI sweatshirt and she struck up a conversation with me bc she also went to URI. I think we became instant friends and I feel like I’ve known her my whole life.

Christine is a mom of 4 with 3.5 years between the oldest and the two youngest (twins). She’s a stay at home mom but finds time to teach step aerobics twice a week, take the kids to multiple activities, assistant coach her child’s soccer team on the weekends, and she’s a wonderful friend who always brings light and laughter to my day no matter what!

Tell us why Christine deserves a coffee break?

“She doesn’t stop, she’s tired, and she doesn’t get much time to herself.”  As moms, we know that time to ourselves is hard to come by, and we hope that Christine was able to enjoy a sip or two along with some peace and quiet!

Thanks to Dunkin’ for providing Christine and Lynne with a much-needed coffee break.

Brooke Rainville
Brooke has spent most of her life in Rhode Island, having grown up in Foster, and moving back to RI after high school in Foxboro, MA. Since becoming a foster parent in 2005, she has cared for 8 children with special needs. The first child placed in her home is now 22, and continues to both brighten and challenge her days. She is stepmom to two young children, who brighten and challenge her days in totally different ways. Brooke has worked with people with special needs for 17 years and currently works as a case manager for children with autism at a non-profit in Southeastern MA. She feels strongly that raising tiny, adorable beings up into functioning, kind, emotionally stable adults is hard, and we all, as mothers, aunts, stepmothers, foster mothers, friends, and grandmothers, have a role in making that easier for each other. Every child (and adult for that matter) we come into contact with will either be better or worse off for the experience, and we should take that seriously, while extending grace to those along with us on this journey. Brooke is passionate about serving others (although she sometimes struggles to do so cheerfully) and advocating for those who can not advocate for themselves. She loves Jesus, a well made gin and tonic, home renovation, and overlooking the dog hair on her floors.
