Dear Working Mom

Dear Working Mom,

I have no idea how you do it. I have no idea how you manage to set an alarm in the morning every day and get all the kids up and out the door. I have no idea how you manage to pack everyone lunches, make sure everyone has all their stuff together, fully and appropriately dressed and loaded into the car or onto the bus in a timely manner no less. I am amazed by your productivity and know that your child(ren) will have a wonderful example of time management skills to look back.

I have no idea how you ever manage to accomplish the million doctor appointments, special school meetings and other random bunch of appointments that kids have these days while using up your vacation and sick time at work. I am sure your children will remember you always being there for things and not remember the stress. Deep breaths. I pray your boss is extra understanding during the crazy busy times.

When do you find time for grocery shopping? Thank goodness for grocery delivery services these days like Munroe Dairy but what did you do before then? When do you find time to make full on meals? May I take a moment to suggest Dream Dinners. A total lifesaver in making mealtime quick and super easy.

How do you run from all the various sports activities and tournaments and choir and concerts after school? Then to run home and make sure everyone is fed a solid meal and sort through backpacks and make sure homework is done. How do you handle those extra projects that your child forgot to tell you about? Then to make sure everyone has their baths or brushed their teeth and then tucked into bed at a decent hour.

I’m guessing you just want to collapse at that point from working a full day on top of keeping track of your children. But I’m guessing you don’t collapse at that point. That you push forward and throw in a load of laundry and clean up the dinner dishes and pack lunches or make sure your child has their uniform for practice the next day. Then you probably collapse. I hope you are able to find time with you partner and can carve out a little you time

I know there are a bunch of working mamas out there. And that you are not alone. I want you to know that this mama is super proud of you all for working so hard. Keep swimming. You can do this. One day, one moment at a time. Please do not be afraid to ask family and friends to help you along the way.
