Sojourner House and JJ’s Toys for Friends Foundation, and The imPOSSIBLE DREAM Playground are a few of our favorite local charities. Check out the good they are doing in our community or start your own holiday tradition by letting your kids pick a favorite charity for your family to donate to!

Sojourner House envisions a world where everyone lives their life free from domestic and sexual abuse.  Thanks to the efforts of our many supporters, Sojourner House has grown from a part-time, volunteer hotline into a provider of comprehensive services available to victims of abuse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  

Every day we receive requests for assistance from individuals in abusive relationships. Thanks to our supporters, we are able to offer them support groups, emergency shelter, transitional housing, sexual health advocacy, emotional support, referrals to over 50 other community partners providing additional assistance, and more. We assisted more than 3,000 new clients in 2014. Our supporters make our work to end domestic and sexual violence possible. Since its incorporation in 1976, Sojourner House has served more than 50,000 individuals. 

Through generous donations, JJ’s Toys for Friends Foundation provides toys and assistive devices to children with special needs. Our mission is to enable loving families to participate in outdoor activities without any restrictions that can be overcome with assistive devices. We also provide toys or other devices that can enrich or improve a child’s life.

The imPOSSIBLE DREAM has made dreams possible for chronically-ill children in Rhode Island for over 34 years. We do not define “dreams”, they are limited only by the child’s imagination. Trips, special bikes, room makeovers, puppies, computers and anything that a child can dream. If a child qualifies for our “dream” program, with the doctor’s permission, we do everything in our power to make his/her dream possible. Your Donation will help a child’s most treasured dream come true.
