I was at the pediatrician. Again. It was the fourth time in a week and a half, and as I sat there trying to avoid reading the waiting room book about the dead dog, again. (Because nothing makes comforting a feverish four-year-old easier than fighting back tears and trying to explain that while yes the sick dog died, don’t worry you’re going to be just fine.) As I sat there, I started to calculate how much the last two weeks had cost me. Four co-pays + a chest x-ray, + four prescriptions filled + two missed days of work… As my dreams of actually scrounging together enough money for a date night this month flew out of my head, I thought to myself “The doctor’s office should have a punch card – get every fifth visit free!”.
Since no pediatrician I know offers that promotion (hit me up if you hear of one, I’m not opposed to switching!) Providence Moms Blog decided to try and help our readers avoid burnout. For all of us, this season is filled with illnesses, difficult weather, and stir-crazy kids and everyone could use a little levity. Read on for the rules, we hope you’ll play along!
- Click on the Bingo Card to print it out and put it up on your fridge. (Or, for the printer phobic among us, screenshot it).
- As any of the event listed happen in your family mark them off.
- When you get Bingo (standard rules apply: vertical, horizontal, diagonal or all four corners – middle space is free!), post a picture on Facebook or Instagram, TAG us (or we won’t be able to see it to enter you!) and use the hashtag #winterburnoutbingo.
- Every other week we will randomly select a winner to receive a $10 Dunkin’ gift card (and even if you don’t win, you’ll have hard and fast evidence to show anyone who accuses you of being cranky).
- On March 20th, the first official day of Spring (Hurray!!!) everyone who has played along will have a chance to win our Grand Prize. Just post a pic of your Bingo Card – Bingo or No Bingo – on the social media platform of your choice with #winterburnoutbingo and one family will win a free photo session at Miss Z’s studio in New Bedford, MA and 5 complimentary high-resolution images (a value of up to $700).
- And while you play along remember: It feels hard because it is hard. You’re doing an awesome job. Laugh when you can, cry when you need to. Spring will come.
