No one wants to be the one flipping pancakes while everyone else eats them hot off the stove. Treat yo self and your whole family to brunch at one of these kid-friendly brunch spots so you can all enjoy hot breakfast food simultaneously for once.

Julian’s, Providence, RI — Julians is famous for its brunch and the environment is very kid-friendly, but be prepared to wait for a table. If your kids are early risers get there when they open to beat the crowd.

Howie’s – Howie’s Restaurant, North Providence, RI – This restaurant’s focus is on farm fresh ingredients. It’s on the smaller side so larger families may need to split themselves between two tables.

Nick’s on Broadway, Providence, RI — A little fancy, but not too fancy for families. Plus, your kids will get a kick out of watching the chefs work in their open kitchen.

Scramblers II Johnston, RI— This low key breakfast and lunch spot is a favorite of our own kids because of the “Mouse” shaped pancakes. (One guess which mouse it is.) And the affordable prices are a favorite for parents.

Providence Bagel, Two Locations— Sometimes all you need is to pop into your local bagel place to make the morning feel extra special. Kids will love their special weekend bagels flavors like rainbow and cotton candy.

The District Restaurant and Bar, Providence, RI—The friendly staff is great with kids and they serve new favorites like Tres Leches French Toast.

Bayberry Beer Hall, Providence, RI— This place was opened by parents with a goal of making sure it was a place that families and kids could enjoy. You need to check out this local gem if you haven’t already.

Waffle , Providence, RI— How could a place called Waffle not make the list?

Wharf Southern Kitchen & Whiskey Bar, Newport, RI— Southern-style Sunday brunch with meal choices for kids and fancy drinks for grown-ups.

OLGA’S CUP & SAUCER – HOME, Providence, RI— This PVD institution has a brunch worth waiting for (and you will wait) as well as treats that will delight kids (and adults) of all ages.

JP Spoonem’s, Cranston, RI — This hole-in-the-wall has one of the best menus around, and the waitresses love kids. (And don’t miss out on the corned beef hash.) Like many places on this list, it’s on the small side so be prepared to wait a bit. CASH ONLY.

Modern Diner, Pawtucket, RI— This old school 1940’s style diner is on the National Registry for Historic Places. Your whole family will love dining out in this blast from the past. CASH ONLY.

Emmily’s, Johnston, RI— There are plenty of tables and parking at this family-friendly restaurant.

T’s Restaurant, Multiple Locations — Breakfast and brunch are served all day, every day at this iconic RI restaurant. Perfect for when you get the brunch craving at 2pm on a Tuesday.

Red Stripe Providence, RI— You may not have known that this Wayland square spot serves brunch on Sundays and is super family-friendly while still being a little refined.

Crazy Burger, Narragansett, RI — Breakfast is served every day from 8 am- 4 pm and the “Mouse” pancakes taste like birthday cake!

India Restaurant, Providence, RI — An unconventional brunch spot for your more adventurous little eaters.

The Grange, Providence, RI – This vegetarian restaurant serves traditional kid-friendly brunch fare like omelets, waffles, and potato hash as well as vegan and gluten-free options, and their coffee is top-notch.

The Cooked Goose, Westerly, RI— Rumor has it Taylor Swift ate breakfast here once, so that is probably enough of a reason to take your tween to check it out. As a sweet bonus, if you have to wait for a table you get a cup of coffee on the house –  just take my money.

Commons Lunch, Little Compton, RI— If you are in RI and have managed to never have Johnny Cakes, remedy that this weekend at Commons Lunch. You won’t be disappointed.

The Chain Gang:

Sometimes you just want to eat pancakes in a place where no one bats an eye if your kids behave like animals and even the pickiest of eaters will find something suitable. Here are some kid-friendly breakfast chains you can find in RI.
