donuts in Rhode IslandWe’ve been making the rounds to find the best donuts in Rhode Island! Growing up, we always had donuts on Sunday morning.

My dad would go out to buy the papers and bring back a dozen donuts from Dunkin Donuts and if it was a special treat my sister and I would get a strawberry coolata to split. Those were the days!

Now, there’s always a new and hip donut shop to try. During the past year, my kids and I made it a special treat to try some new donuts. Here are our top 5 places to find donuts in Rhode Island. Bonus, you can get some of these at some of our favorite local coffee shops!

Master Homemade Donuts in North Kingstown has an incredible selection. The donuts are light and fluffy and always taste fresh, no matter what time you go. We always get a few sprinkled and old fashioned. I love that they have a drive thru window because who feels like lugging two kids in to grab donuts?

Location: 6689 Post Rd, North Kingstown, RI

Glaze ‘N Daze is another favorite! They have fun flavors, and you can order ahead online which makes it easier. I love that they have delicious and creative donuts that aren’t super heavy and leave me feeling like I ate a brick.

Location: 39 Greenville Ave, Johnston, RI

PVD Donuts, the ultimate fun donut! I get PVD twice a year because they’re so rich and delicious. Their 90’s Menu in March is always their best selection of delicious treats but the cereal milk is my all time favorite. There is always a line, even during the pandemic, so order ahead online and save yourself the hassle, or follow them on Instagram and get them delivered, which is what I’m doing this week!

Location: 79 Ives St, Providence, RI

KNEAD Doughnuts They have 2 different locations and offer seasonal donuts.  their strawberry donut in the summer is to-die-for! You can order ahead and grab your treats. I love how they’re rich and they remind me of the old fashioned donuts we would get on the Cape when I was a kid.

Locations: 135 Elmgrove Ave #4230 Providence, RI
333 Main Street, East Greenwich, RI

Then, there’s Allie’s, a longstanding RI tradition. I love the simplicity of their frosting. You can get a donut cake and they’ll make any design (but be sure to plan ahead- you often need to order cakes months in advance). They are just as good as the individual donut. They now accept venmo which is great for people like me who never have cash on them.

Location: 3661 Quaker Ln, North Kingstown
